I joined BYC because I join every single internet forum I ever find useful information on!

I joined BYC because I wanted to learn all I could about keeping chickens - and as much as I've 'learned', I log on a few times a day to get my daily laugh, inspiration, and sometimes get all teary-eyed. I went from 10 hatchery hens to raising 20 day-old chicks (19 of which survived to adult-hood), to incubating and hatching 2 batches of eggs very successfully (last 13 hatched this past weekend). We've processed chickens based off of advice given here (my husband made his own killing cone from a traffic cone), and improved our coops and runs ten-fold.

Thank you to all those who inspire me on a daily basis, and keep me informed and educated about my chickens!

BTW, my husband just informed me we have 42 chickens. With chicken math, I hadn't computed the 16-4 week olds and 13 2-day old chickens into our equation yet...

I joined BYC because after a year of lurking without an account, i just needed to make an account so i could ask questions about chicken breeds and keeping.

it wasn't til 2 years ago before i really got addicted (my posts went from around 350 to around 2000 in days!)
 
I got an account because I needed the information about chickens, and I've learned so much! THe moderators and nice and I like that they try to keep it kid friendly with nothing inappropriate. This is by far, the best chicken forum out there!
