Ok these are seriously tough chicks Will Marrow is raising all these group the Marans, Welsummers, Ameraucanas, and Silkie are out in a chicken tractor with the wire covered in heavy black plastic with ventalation gaps and wholes. They have the floor covered in shavings also and one hear lamp. Its 27 degrees outside right now and they aren't even near the heat lamp they are way off roosting on the little roost thats in there

tomorrow it will be 40 so they will be out in the PVC run I am going to build for them. Wish me luck tomorrow is a big project day. I am putting light in the coop, cleaning up chicken stuff thats gotten spread all over the yard, putting together two PVC runs that have fallen into disrepair and finishing homework and a 10 page paper about Mennonites.

Thanks she is peachicks little invention I think its a partridge rooster over a "blond" hen with gray underfeathers and came out partrige with gray underfeathers. Everyone looks great this morning and I will take some better pictures of them.

Ya I think so to the chicks are giving grumpy fluff some space this morning

They are much faster then her so they can escape when she has her little outbursts

My dh says that silkies are "real" chickens either. They do have such wonderful personalities so it's hard not to like them.

Thanks sara I hope the Ameraucana are girls not quite sure yet. Peachick thanks for the pictures the girl really want out with the big birds but she will stay in with this batch of chicks for a while I feel like the big girls would really hurt her.
