I did it! I gave my two weeks notice and will now officially be a SAHM. Why do I feel like I am going to puke? It is such a relief to have it done but I am also scared out of my wits!!!!

I'm a stay at home mom - of sorts... I used to be the breadwinner around here, but the tables have turned... Things are better in some ways, worse in others.

Its hard for me to get accustomed to not being in control of everything. I'd like to think that we're equal partners, but he's the one who earns the paycheck so I feel like a bum when I need to ask for money.

I don't have a boss to answer to anymore, though. I'm the boss of the house at least! You'll adjust, and it'll be good for the kids.

I work P/T right now, and we're getting close to the point of allowing me to stay at home full time... I'm nervous too. But what a blessing to be able to really devote ALL your time to your home and family!!

You're soooo lucky. I was never financially able to do that......Letting go of that extra cash is probably what's making your nervous......Don't worry.....I'm betting you'll LOVE IT!

Change is sometimes scary but can be great! I recently became a SAHM myself in the past 3 weeks and am getting used to it. Besides, I get to spend more time with the chickens and I started a chicken blog!

I imagine you feel like I would if I were to apply for a job! lol I have been a SAHM for 3 1/2 years now and it was hard enough to go to school for awhile. I would like to go back to work at least P/T but believe it or not we can't AFFORD me to go back to work. CHildcare is $$$$ and so is fuel! It is one of those things that sucks when you live in a rural community. 15 miles from anything.

It is definitely going to take some adjustment for sure. We won't be able to be so free with our money. I am planning on doing some work with the National Notary Association but I can do it on my terms. It will help to have the extra money though. I am going to give this my best effort. I hate to see how much we waste on stupid things every month and would really like to get back to the basics so to speak. My sister is a SAHM and has been for a number of years so she has been a good sounding board and lots of support.

Thanks for the well wishes!!! I can break out my flip flops now and I can also get some more sewing done! Mostly glad that my kids won't have to be babysat by someone else!!!
