Just offering an answer to someone, that is all.
I am hungry already, then I read about you roasting a chicken

Mmmm, sounds awesome!

We just butchered 4 roos I bought off of Craigslist a few weeks ago. It was a learning experience. Since then, I have been raising 9 Cornish X that are now almost 3 weeks old. I can honestly say these chicks are very active! I am getting the "big chick coop" ready for them as soon as I can get my butt off of BYC today. We bought them from Ideal, and so far I am very, very happy with these chicks! I noticed a huge amount of growth 2 days ago. I fed and watered them before work. When I took care of them that evening I swear they doubled in size since that morning!

I was on a waiting list for 15 Cornish X from Ideal, and got an email. I called today, so now I have 15 more that will be shipped on 3/23. I'm doing 2 batches right now because I really don't care to be raising Cornish X over the summer. My friend also has 10 extra roos that she is thinking to give to me to process. We went to get an extra refrigerator from my brother yesterday, and I'm going to be getting 2 more chest freezers from him later this week. We are stocking up! I think we're going to try to make sausage out of some of the older roos from my friend. We'll see.
