Well...I just put in my name for 3 Delaware Pullets. Told him I'd take a rooster too if they get one.

When I got my first chickens 9 weeks ago the bins at TSC must have been mixed up because while I was pulling out of the Standard Straight Run bin...I ended up with Bantams.

I have 5 OEGB Silver Duckwings (2 of them Roosters), 5 that I thought were Brahmas, but now that no black is coming in I know they must be white cochins???? They are pure white feather legged fluff balls.....4 toes. 2 Roosters there too. Finally one standard sized Ancona (I think??? A Mottled black and white with yellow legs that have black dots on them).

Not a single Large egg layer in the bunch. So I needed more chickens. Don't you all agree??? I have tiny egg layers, small-medium egg layers...now I need some large egg layers.

Now I need someone who needs some Roosters. Anyone in the Easter NC area need some white fluffball Roosters, and an OEGB Silver Duckwing Rooster?????

I'm still trying to convince my hubby I need ONE (or two) more...but he's telling me to get rid of the silkies if I want two more because MY MAX was 3 and I've exceeded it by getting a total of FOUR....FOUR is nothing...I need 6...LOL

Tell your husband he is being mean if he expects you to only have 3 babies.

My husband is such a sweetie. I was talking myself into having to get rid of our 4 roosters because we don't intend to breed the OEGBs or the Cochins (I think I've decided that's what they are). I thought it wouldn't be fair to the hens.

He said "now we don't know what they'll be like with the hens. They are only 9 weeks old and they free range with all this property. Give them time. If they bother the hens, then we can rehome them. If not they can stay".

Isn't that sweet? I was already ready to find them new homes. It turns out I already have folks who want eggs from the OEGBs.

My husband has been the best with my chicken hobby. He is helping me build a second coop! It's not very big, but it's going to be an inbetween step - from the brooder to this coop, then on to the "big bird coop". He's having almost as much fun as I am!

GET RID of Silkies!?! I don't know if I could "just" get rid of any birds! LOL! I suppose I'm lucky with my hubby. I guess it's because our neighbors are supportive of our chickens too, though...

I have a great guy too, he and I went together to pick up 28 chicks, with more on the way the first of June!

I am totally smitten with these little creatures and I hope I can keep it within the bounds of reason as to how many I have!

My DH doesn't care what I buy or how many I do. Sometimes if I ask first then he will say not now but if I just do it without asking he is fine. He just needs to know what I need and when I need it built. We rebuilt a new roost today for the chicks and when we were done he asked, is that all? Do they need anything else right now?

I think I would wait on letting your silkies go for a while. I think they look better with age and you probably are not seeing their personalities yet as they are still too young.
