If you feel between their butt bones (pelvic bones), the one with the largest space is most likely to have laid the egg. Chickens that have begun to lay or who are about to lay usually have red combs, instead of pink/peach.

Could you post a picture of your egg and your chickens, or just breed on the chickens. Certain breeds can lay colors certain colors, though it's usually on a bit of a spectrum for lack of a better term. For example my BOs lay a sort of cream/khaki and my sexlinks a dark brown. Although the one with the bright red comb was probably the culprit. How's the pelvic bone check going? You can also see if you can get her to "squat" wings raised lightly and still mostly folded and close to the ground. It's a sign of sexual maturity.
