I don't have an incubator, but hope to hatch a couple ducklings.

From when they were hatching.

This is the foot and toes that are not great looking. This duckling was third to hatch, I waited a while after it fully zipped, it couldn't seem to push out of the egg well on its own, so I helped a little, only after I was sure it was safe to do so.

All three are resting in the incubator right now, huddled up and adorable.

I may have made a rash mistake, that other egg that hasn't hatched yet, I did a bit of research probably not enough. And 'helped' it I only broke a the shell and a little membrane, I felt it seemed to have a hard time breathing? It was breathing very rhythmically and I was worried since it hadn't made anymore progress zipping only one part of the shell was broken. I do think it's a little shrink wrapped Idk, I am so worried.

Does that look fine? I will do more reading and monitor.

Last time I am checking on it tonight most likely.
Its still doing the same stuff as before, I worry I just ruined it's chances even more. I was slightly being pressured in a sense to help it by my younger sister, also I was worried that if not trying to help it then, that it wouldn't make it either.

I am going to leave it be now, let nature take its course for the night, hopefully the incubator will be safe for them to be in over night, it doesn't have any dedicated ventilation. It's a triocottage incubator, that model has different versions but we needed up with one without the ventilation. I don't understand who in their right mind didn't put actual vent holes like other bators.

Heres the little one, so worried about it. Struggling to even stay calm, knowing it's not handling well, likely. RH is around 70-80 and temps are what they should be.

I have helped ducklings hatch before even starting to zip…. But only if they had pipped a day or two before. I’d carefully help him out. Sorry I wasn’t on last night to answer.
As far as ventilation, they should have designed it with plenty but I’m not familiar with the one you have.

They are all well right now, the one I helped is still in the egg.
Here's it just now.

It's still alive, should I try helping soon? It has made attempts to push out, but I am unsure if it is fully ready.

RH is stilll around 70-80. And temps are good.

It was pushing a little bit when I took these. Wait a few more hours to make any attempt to help? Like an hour ago I tried to see if it needed to be placed different but it kept its head that way so I didn't mess with it further, and immediately checked RH after, and added a little bit of water.

Somethings wrong with it's neck? I walked away to another room and heard peeping, and find it out of the shell. And it's siblings pushing the shell around.

It's still acting like it's in the egg almost, it wont keep its neck properly extended and keeps pulling it back to zipping position?
