I don't know what's wrong with my quail??! Please help!

He's gone back to his normal self for a couple days now; talking back to me and making calls and only sleeping at night! I don't know if it was the heat and it just took him a couple days to recover? Or maybe some other sort of mild sickness? I'd like to avoid having him not feel well again so if anyone has any ideas on what this might have been please let me know!

And back to the off topic talk on lifespan, I'm basing it off of a guineapig's lifespan as well (since I'm raising him as a pet) and all 3 of my guineapigs lived to be 7-8 years. I've also been wanting to get another quail so he has someone of his own species to socialize with, but I don't want to get a female because I don't want to take care of more than 2 quails. Would it be a horrible idea to get another male? I don't know if they would fight or even like each other...

It might be possible to get two males to live peacefully together. It can be done with males that were raised together, anyway. But the introduction phase might be difficult and there is no guarantee it'll work. I don't recall reading about anyone attempting it.
