We have 2 feed stores in town, one carries mainly horse stuff, but has shavings. The other is an old family feed store that has chickens, ducks, and such. Which is more likely to have it? How do I make sure it's food grade? Is it necessary? For an 8x4 coop, how much do I need?

If you want some right away in a small amount most health food stores have it, but Joe gave you the really good sources.

Thanks all, also is it necessary, or just a health guard?

(in other words should I put it before finishing my coops or can it wait, i don't know how to prioritize it. My coop will be done by spring)
