I think you bring up a really good point. I've never used the Quote that I can recall, but I think it's used when you want to quote multiple comments in one reply.
Remember the whole point of this site is to teach you a new kind of math. One that only involves increasing quantities and larger dimensions.

Use 'quote' when you want to quote the comments of another poster. :idunno Things become easier with use. This is for sure a different community than FB.

You can also highlight parts of a post with your mouse and then an option to quote them will appear. It's useful for making clear exactly what you're replying to. While just clicking on "Reply" at the bottom of a post quotes the entire post, and using the "+Quote" button adds the post to a "multi-quote" queue that you are given an option to insert into your post (that option appears as a button below the text editor). You can quote multiple times in a single post, so you can address / reply to / comment on a number of different posts in a thread in a single reply.
