I don't need no Stinkin Water Bath Canner........

I have a water bath canner, but often use a stock pot for fewer jars. I even have a tall skinny one that I do one quart of tomatoes at a time when I only have enough ripe tomatoes for one jar. It really doesn't matter what you use as long as they are properly covered. I never use a jar holder either.

AWWW Don't feel bad I was about to fork over $18.00 plus shipping from Amazon.com for one. The only thing that stopped me was deciding that gas to go to work was a little more important.
If I could have found one for $5.00 I probably would have bought it too.

Today 12:10 pm My mom would use a large stock pot in a pinch if she needed more than one water bath canner going and she would place acouple dish towels in the bottom if she didn't have an extra wire rack. Anything to keep the bottom of the canner from cracking the jars from the force of the boiling.

I've put towels in the bottom of a large pot as well.
