...when I was cleaning the coop this morning, one of the poos had a kind of worm or larva in it. Kind of hard-cased, and about an inch long. Do you think it was something one of my girls ate, or do I need to do some serious worming? These are my first chickens and I've had them for less than 2 weeks, so I don't exactly know what to expect...

I am not sure, but I had to giggle about your post. I read about the worm thing, then I saw your sig. Kind of hit me funny.

I'd recommend spreading some DE around the inside of your coop too. Hard cased doesn't sound like an internal parasite, but a little DE sprinkled everywhere will take care of most bugs and worms. You might check under your waterer if you have one inside the coop. If it stays wet underneath it, some bugs like to lay their eggs there, too.

Oh no, I totally didn't make the connection between the post and my sig! That's nasty!

Thanks for the advice, everyone; DE it is, then.
