I feel kinda guilty about this...

I'd spend good money on rodent control chickens!!

Rodent control, insect control, snake and frog control too. After I watched one of my hens beat a rather large frog to death against the side of the building before swallowing it I stopped putting anything past them.

I'll bet they have thanksgiving marked on the calender in their coop.

I've not yet been able to feed them chicken (maybe one day), but I do give them other leftover meats and they are NUTS for it!

My uncle-in-law has a disturbing story about throwing a deer carcass that had been processed for all its meat to the chickens, and they picked it clean! It's not super surprising, but amazing for sure. I do love to see the looks on peoples' faces when I tell them that the chickens eat chicken! Priceless.

I've never fed my chickens 'chicken' before either but not against it per se. But, I often cook thighs or quarter legs, is that ok to give them with the bones? I guess my doubt stems from not giving dogs chicken bones. I'm sure the chickens don't eat them like a dog would.

I give them chicken, bones and all. However, I make it a point to pick up any bones left in the chicken yard at the end of the day, so as to not attract predators.

BTW & OT - my dogs have been eating raw chicken (w/the bones) since they were pups. It's only cooked chicken bones that present a problem for dogs.
