I feel like a chicken murdered!

Are you meaning a Pekin bantam duck? Some birds, duck or chicken, are just not good mothers. If the babies aren't fully feathered yet then they could be getting chilled.

It does sound like you are having a bit of bad luck. Feeding the ACV should be helping them develop good bacteria in their gut. Have you checked them for parasites? Internal and external? Worms can do a lot of damage if there is an infestation as can lice or mites.

There are no Pekin Bantam Ducks. The pekin Bantam the OP refers to is what the Brits call what we in the US call a Cochin Bantam.

How many other chickens do you have? I have lost many over the course of the time I've been keeping birds. Never more than 10% of entire flock at the very most.

I'm sorry about your experiences. I hope you have better luck in the future.

Chicks can die for so many reasons. Too hot, too cold, etc. Cocci is a big cause of chick death.

You could have plain bad luck! My first flock consisted of four adult hens. One of them died after only having her for three days. I walked out to the coop and she was dead- no wounds, no signs of disease. I think she was just stressed from her journey and couldn't handle the change. They can be temperamental little buggers!
