i looked out my window this afternoon to see 2 teenage girls climbing my fence..

That's a 'no-no' . I'd like to pass along a reminder to any fence-climbers for the *next time*.
In local situations, you might have been arrested (at the least) or shot without question (at night) for trespassing.
Just a word to the wise: If you don't own anything on the other side of that fence --- don't climb / cross it.

Yeah, thats kinda what I was thinkin. You climb over my fence, and I will probably meet you with a shotgun. For that matter, if you knock on my door at night and my DH isnt home, I will probably meet you with a shotgun!

How's that for old fashioned!!! Then they really would have had stories for MySpace! :lol

I think you were much more polite then I would have been, and you have every right to be upset.

All great responses here! Those kids need to get out a little more....for one there are mulitiple ways to keep fleas and ticks off of animals... I will say I'm impressed that they left their video games and tv and actully did something active outside... although climbing something other than your fence would have been better!

Hang in there!

They need to take a good look because I think we are all in style so to speak now. With the economy scare, people are going to start doing what most of the BYC has been doing for years. Raising animals, probably gardening, canning and be self sufficient.

My point is your homemade shirt with fresh goat prints on it is a badge of honor wear it proudly. (Jealous you have goats, my hubbie said no to goats but did expand the veggie garden)

First of all i would like to say that I am a teenager. I have climbed maybe 3 fences in my whole life. I am not graceful and if my parents had caught/heard of me doing it i would have a sore rear. The third (and last) time i did this i was going to my friends house and she had told me it was ok to climb (she had led the way the first 2 times). Well this time i was alone and it was christmas. Being the grace i am, i stabbed my hand on one of the Christmas lights on the fence. So as I stood with my hand bleeding and small red glass buried in my palm, i vowed never to climb another fence. Now that I am older i realize it was a bad choice to begin with, but hey we live and learn.

I recommend if you don't want those kids just climbing in and out of your yard you need to stop it now. Try not to be too harsh. Good kids will stop after one asking, no need for threats or crazy goat stories.
