I.e, the vent is where the rooster's poop comes out. The mites tend to congregate there.

OOOOOH, and I was thinking it was more towards his head! Well, I went out and held him again and lifted his ruff and didn't see anything, but I got the creepy-crawlies afterwards when I thought about it. It's a bit too soon for me to get that personal with Little Jerry.
