Since the chick-bater isn't very reliable, I had to put it inside a closed styrofoam cooler, and make a few holes in the cooler for air and the cord. then I filled up 3 water bottles with tap water and put them inside the cooler (on their sides) around the chick bator. Then, I put even more heat sinks inside the chick-bator itself. they were plastic ice cubes that I melted, so they were little un-opened packs filled with water. I placed them underneath the wire for the chickbator. Then i put a cloth on the wire and a stripe of foil on the wall to block the light from hitting the eggs.

To measure humidity I had one of those cheap gauges you get from the pet store, but for temperature i had a sensitive probe thermometer.

for heat control I attached the chick-bator to a simple light dimmer.
