I forgot to close the incubator for 9 hrs.

This sucks I can't believe I forgot to close the incubator this morning . I open the incubator for a couple minutes in the morning to cool and then mist them and reclose. It's day 14 and I only had three of the five Cinnamon teal eggs left that I started with and none of the three hatched last year. I knew not to leave the room but went to brush my teeth and forgot.

I would candle tomorrow and see if any made it. I have had power outages for long periods like that and the incubator cools and still survived and hatched.

That was the plan I haven't given up all hope. I just wanted to rant a little and let my blood pressure calm down these are difficult enough to hatch.

Eggs can cope with lower temperatures much better than high temperatures. At 14 days in they will be generating a little heat of their own.

Well at day 14 I left the top off the incubator for 9 hours with three Cinnamon teal eggs. Good news they hatched.

I know I had eggs under my broody hen and when her 1st hatch happened she gave up on the eggs and they were left unattended for at least 1 day(s) I candled and 4 were viable and i ran and placed in my incubator and all 4 hatched however 1 died, I went shopping and came home found it half in half out of the waterer with it's head out and very cold I gave poultry cell, and warmed it up but sadly it passed.
