I have a Brinsea Mini Advanced and the instrusction recommended to turn on the cooling feature on day 8 for 120 mins a day. It is now day 14 and I am wondering if I should turn it on now....or just let them be. Does anyone have eny experience with not using cooling feature or using it late??

Thanks for the help.

No experience about doing it late but if recommended it couldn't hurt to start it now.
Mine isn't automatic but if I think about it I'll turn mine off for about 30 minutes a day.
A hen gets off of the nest once a day so that simulates nature.

The cooling feature is something relative new in incubation. Waterfowl breeders started doing it 4-5 years ago & it seem to help their hatch rates. I'm not sure it is required with chicken eggs, although It's not a bad idea. I would think it wouldn't make any difference if you use it or not - it's kind of a judgment call.. Personally I don't see the need.

I have the same incubator. I had the cooling feature on for 45 minutes each day starting from day one and had a 100% hatch rate. It wouldn't hurt to start now.
