i found a lump hope its not cancer UPDATE post 26 UPDATE 2 post 27

Honestly I have never read of or heard of any cancer that develops that quickly, especially within a matter of a few weeks. I would tend to go with an enlarged lymph node. Definately see a doc so you can get this taken care of. The sooner then better.

Well my vote is a node I have had a "lump" taken out twice for testing THANK GOD it was benign both times and I have also had what sounds like your problem that was just an infection in the node. Get to the Dr. asap
Also as a Granny my self I will say shame on you for not talking to yours for 2 years call her call her call her
Good Luck with all GOD BLESS!

It could also be mastitis, which is usually one side and develops quickly. One thinks of mastitis as a condition/illness that happens after giving birth, but it can happen at other times as well. My step daughter had mastitis when she was about 10.

We weren't as rigorous at keeping our spa chemicals balanced as we should have been, and the doctor believed that was the most likely source of the infection. Needless to say we became much more exacting in making sure the chemicals were balanced and the water safe.

In the original post it sounded like the OP had been on vacation, so a similar situation could have developed. Hope it is something simple like that and easily treated.

Op you did not post what kind of birth control you are on but I got fibrocystic breast disease after changing my b/c pills.I had been on one for a LONG time. Then had my DD and changed to the only one I could take while breastfeeding. My pain got worse and worse. It started as a line down the breast and under my arm.i thought I might have pulled something.

Finally as it got worse and worse I really inspected it in the shower,It was like a line (seam running down my breast (a thickening) and it was attached to under my arm.

Had Dh feel it and he said got ot doc right away.DOc immeadaitly thought fibrocystic breast but covered her basis and sent me for a mamogram as well as an ultru sound.

It was in fact fibrocystic breast disease.I was quite mad as I was 26 and wondered HOW this happened so suddenly. She first off asked if I had recently changed b/c,When I told her what I had changed TO she said BINGO.

It was in fact listed as the LAST possible side effect. It went away in time with a changed b/c and diet and I was in fact able to nurse my son.I then decided either me or dh was going to get a permanant solution so as never to worry about b/c again.

SO op have you changed B?C in the last 6 months not neccesarily just the pill, just changed methods?

i dont take birth control for the fact that i cant have children i was born without ovaries. and that im abstinent. im 19 if that helps. glad you figured out the problem its gotten a bit bigger but the pain is still the same. and the post above you yes i was on vacation but i didnt go into any hot tub or pool i was in the salty ocean.

I had a friend in college who would get awful cysts under her arms. She'd have to go to a doctor to get them drained and I'm sure they were painful. She would have been about your age when that was happening.

I doubt it's cancer, given your age and the speed this happened. Go see a doctor and get it taken care of! You'll feel better. Do you have health care?

ya i do have health care. i dont think its a cyst though it doesnt have a head or anything on it. ill update this in the morning on how it is. thanks all for your help and concerns.

A cyst can be 100% internal and not have a "head", especially if it's a lymph node or something else that drains internally rather than to the skin's surface. A cyst doesn't mean a zit.

Sounds to me like a lovely staph infection.

What type of soap are you using? antibacterial? If not...start using that.

Wearing bras that are synthetic and that have underwires will cause the irritation needed for bacteria to thrive in.
