Hello! Sorry to be a bother, but I’m afraid I might have a serious problem. Yesterday evening I was taking a swim with my family in a nearby creek, when suddenly a duckling came floating down through the falls. We weren’t sure what to do, but it came down into the water pretty hard so my father went to check on it. We looked upstream for the mother and didn’t find anything, so we decided to take it home. However, I did some research and I believe it might be stressed. The poor thing isn’t eating, is panting, and I haven’t seen it drink a drop of water. I tried a number of watered down foods that it could possibly like, but it just wasn’t having it. I wouldn’t call it being stubborn, but probably a loss for appetite. I’m not sure on what I should do, but from the looks of it, the little one might not make it. So please, help me prevent such a thing from happening. If you can’t I understand. Thank you!

Bless it's heart most likely got into the current and got washed way downstream. You need to contact DNR and they can give you info on contacting a wild life rehabber. Keep the little one warm and keep offering food and water . This thread will get locked pretty fast since this is a wild duckling. Hopefully, you can find some help for the little one, and bless you for wanting to help. Waterfowl rescues can take in wild birds and raise them so they can be released. Be sure to offer warmish water and if your wetting down the feed the water needs to be warm.
