I have chicks that are 8 weeks old. I was outside and heard squawking inside the barn. I went in and saw that one of the little hens had her foot stuck in some wire and was hanging upside down. I got her down and she's ok, but what I found interesting was that all the other chickens ran over to her and were watching her as if they wanted to help but didn't know how. They watched me intently as I released her, and crowded around her when I put her on the ground. Is this normal? I mean, do chickens help each other out when they're in trouble? I found it curious either way.
