How do you keep your eggs sorted by age in the refrigerator? I try to make a mental note which carton is the oldest but I always forget. Do you write a date or number on the carton? I sometimes have 3 or 4 cartons of eggs in the fridge at one time, until I give some away. What's your system for using the oldest ones first?

I fill a carton and stack them in the fridge from bottom (oldest) to top (freshest). That way I don't have to move any of the cartons around to put the freshest in. The single carton that I'm currently using goes on a separate shelf. I pul my eggs from the bottom. That way if I'm boiling any, they're easier to peel.

See, that's what I've been doing, stacking the oldest carton on the bottom. Then I run out of room in the newest carton, and I've used eggs from the old carton so there's space in the old one so I put some eggs in there because I'm in a hurry - and then they are all mixed up again!

I'm going to try the date with a pencil method.

I boil and./or give away any that are older than three days old, so anything in the holding area is always old. If I get mixed up somehow, I just boil and feed, or give away, or incubate any eggs in question.
