I give up horrible hatch rates arn't worth it!!

I never up my humidity. I live in Arkansas and its very humid here. Everytime I followed orders to have humitidy my chicks were dead in the shell. They drowned. Its because as they grow the air cell gets a bit larger if the humidity is too high it will draw water into the air cell and then when they pip... they go for that breath of air and its water instead. If you live in a very humid area or your house has high humidity. I would suggest the humitidy level be at between 45 and 55% no more.

Marans eggs are NOTORIOUS for weak air cells in shipping. If you would like I could send you 2 dozen marans eggs to hatch and the reason I would send so many is because they do not ship well. Out of 5 dozen marans eggs I got about a 24% hatch rate with a 10% live adult. Those adults are doing wonderful. I have since hatched out 30 chick and they are very hardy jumping out of the shell quickly. If you will me email me or join me tonight in byc chat I would be happy to discuss it with you!

OK lets have a club unfortuanately Since I have the worst hatching rate of anyone ever
I am an offical egg killer I'd be President ! - I have killed more breeds then most hatcheries offer --- A broody if you have one is a great solution - even with silkies not happening here - so how to stop being an egg killer - First move your incubator- Location Location Location- I increased my hatching by 25% just because I moved the incubator - then breeds - My polish eggs are at 99% in my incubator I could those if a tornado hit my house --- Silkies are still a challenge and only one Serama egg has ever hatched for me but I shipped them things to TN and magic --
It is the worst when they die late in shell like the Silkies that it turned out were being over heated at 101.5 cuz the expensive therm from Wal Mart was a lemon or the ten Serama eggs that just didn't make it out----so I understand your flustration but keep going you'll find a trick
