I brought him home along with a red hen and My

Matilda that I raised from her chick days is ****** off! She liked the Rooster (Bowie we call him) but pecked at the new hen why

She is reestablishing the pecking order. What works for me when introducing new (in my case, adolescents) birds, is to keep them in a cage in the coop for a few days to a week so that they get used to each other first. Then I put out the new ones as night, and the transition usually ends up going smoothly.
