I got a new baby goat!

How old is he? It was blank on the first post.

Oh, sorry, he's about 7 or 8 weeks old. I've got 8 goats and 2 sheep of which I bottled-fed from their first day and I never had this much trouble, but my others were raised in the house and followed me around.

If he's 8 weeks he's old enough to wean. Is he eating hay and grain? Sounds like he doesn't really need the bottle, especially if he's struggling so much.

I once bottle fed goats that were with their mom for 3 weeks, and it was only a challenge for the first two days. After that they picked it up quick!

Is your milk too hot? Is it streaming out too fast? Maybe there's a reason why he's struggling so much?

Well, I added an extra spoonful of yogurt to the baby's bottle yesterday and he takes it eagerly now; can't seem to get enough! I think he's taming down pretty good now.
