Okay so today was a scary day! I called my husband from work to have him check the temp and keep an eye on the egg. He told me the temp was 104! I told him to open the lid now to cool it down and told him to fill the water so the humidit would go back up. so he got the temp stablized and I checked when i got home (just now 9pm) and there is a pip. Thank god its still alive. I was so scared that the temp had been too high for too long! The wait will kill me. Now I am going to worry about if opening the lid to much will get the baby stuck in the lid!

nothing, ALL night, nothing......... NOW WHAT? the pip is the same size from what I can see and its been 9 hours. I heard it chirping last night. Thought I could hear it this morning. Im trying to be patient but this is hard!

well its been two hours since I woke up and checked. The egg has another small chip in it next to the first one. The chick has a loud mouth

this is day 20 for me and I am following what you post as this is my first time hatching. I keep checking on the eggs but nothing is moving as yet. You are my guide here,

good luck to you ozark hen (are you from missouri?)

I hatched some last year-had good luck, but i feel like a beginner all over again!!

I helped one chick out last year because I was impatient and I regret it. It had the leg problem where I had to band them together so he could walk. It never repaired itself and unfortunately it was the same group of chickens/goose that got killed by my father-in-laws dog. (which urkes me by the way because now the dumb dog lays and hangs out with the chicken I have left!! )

Good luck and keep me posted how your hatch goes. I have more in my R-Com due to hatch out in 11 days.

Hi tebs, thanks for the info. Lived here in Missouri for over 40 years. Wouldn't live anywhere else now.

I appreciate you posting each day on your hatch.
I read your past posts on the sebastopol geese. I wish I could afford one.

They are gorgeous and I love everything I read about their personalities. Good luck with the hatch.

well, he's making small progress. I can't keep my hands to myself and helped some with a tweezer. He's trying madly to get out now. but his feet seem to be where he origionally pipped at..
