We had a rat that had no companion (but for my daughter) that lived to be 5 yrs old. We kept him in the main room of the house (that position inspires us to keep the cage/area clean and odor-free). The more attention it gets, the more fun it is to have around! Congrats!

Wait a minute you can litter train rats !!! I have 2 a dumbo and a normal . I didnt know you could litter train them though . Is it like training a rabbit ? I trained my skunk so if i can train a skunk im sure i can train a rat
