I usually let them "free-range" in a fenced-in yard, but today I'm going to keep them in the run. I'm really worried that they're laying eggs somewhere that I haven't found yet.
Hi neighbor. It's been a long time since I've been in Conroe...I'm ready to go to the lake
Are you going to blow the egg and save your first?
I get the girls out of the house and into their new coop tomorrow, and I figure they better lay a dozen a day each just to pay for their new digs. Farming isn't for money that's fer sure. It's the eggcitement of it.
Since it took 19.5 weeks to make the first egg, is it going to take 19.5 weeks to make the 2nd egg?????????
I am the most impatient person
How long does it usually take???? I mean, seriously, I have 10 girls out there...at least 1 gave me an egg, and I know the others are ready to lay (red combs, wattles, squatting when I pet them, etc.). I bought another dozen eggs from the store yesterday...it better be my last!
OK...count to 10...breathe...alrighty, I feel better. I'm just having a really bad day, and a cute little brown (or white, or green
I got a brown egg last Saturday...nothing all week...then a green egg today. Apparently I have weekend layers...LOL.
I'm so confused...this is not happening at all like I expected. First, I expected white eggs from my Leghorns first. They seemed to mature faster and they are bred for production (Ideal 236). Also, I thought once they start laying, they continue laying...not 1 egg then NOTHING else for over a week...
