They are to mark them as pullets. I have removed 3 of them but don't know if I should apply something to the wings.

If you have some Blue Kote, I would dab a bit over the bare spots to keep them from picking at them. Congrats! They are adorable.

If it looks angry/infected you can use neosporin WITHOUT pain reliver, but you probably don't need to do anything but keep an eye on things. If the chicks start to peck at the area go get some blue-kote from the feed store. It will help with infection, but more importantly (usually) it turns hurt areas from red to blue which discourages pecking.

Those are wing bands. Unless someone was very careless putting them on, all you should have to do is to remove them.

Congrats on the new chicks! RIR is my favorite breed. I have three more on order for April but I could end up with about 5 more...
