They are a very sweet breed!

Lucky you! They lay large darker brown eggs. You are so lucky, I just lost my favorite and only golden comet to the heat.

What bet did you win? Yay for you though!!! I have 8 that are in the same age group as yours, they're supposed to lay very well and start early compared to RIR's. They're supposed to lay around 300+ eggs a year, but since they start early they drop in production early as well (what I've heard atleast on a different thread about RIR's vs Golden Comets). And are you sure you got pullets?

You asked what bet did I win
its was betting I could get them in with out DH ever knowing
about them.

its 5 days so I get to keep the little darlings.
and Dh still is not aware ..

as I have 9 coups now and chickens galore
but to be fair I have the comets on the patio
where it would be easy for them to be noticed.
but Dh still hasnt noticed the small coop
had
4 chix now its 6 with the 2 Golden comets.

I tend to sneak in extra animals too... had my pot belly pigs for 2 MONTHS before he found out... and he only found out because I had pictures on my phone LOL. I currently have 15 3wk old chicks he doesnt realize have arrived in the mail

DH is Darling Husband. Watch for DW - Darling Wife and DBF/DGF the boyfriend and girl friend. Also the in laws as in MIL & FIL...funny the in laws don't get the "D" for Darling!
Theres also abreviation for all the chicken breeds--like BO for Buff Orpington and RIR for Rhoad Island Red. But I haven't figured them all out yet!!!
