Interesting...exploding mess. What makes them explode?

shrink wrapping is when you dont have enough humidity and the membrane of the eggs "shrink wraps" and the chick cant get out without assistance. During lockdown put a sponge in the incubator to retain humidity.

Hey guys - if my eggs were set on 7/14 at 11:00 pm.................when exactly do I lock down???!!?!?!?

So when I lock down - I put a sponge in, or should I put a sponge in now?

I just threw out 4 blank polish eggs, 1 quitter and one black guinea. I think I have two blank turkey eggs and perhaps one that is rotten, or not. I can't tell. It has an odor, but those eggs were particularly poopy. The darkness inside is now through out the entire egg, with the exception of the air sac, but it does have a slight odor....HMMM

but anyway...back to my lockdown......
