I Got My First Egg

I got my first egg today but it was layed yesterday and it had a solf shell an was cracked .

Congrats and that is a sign of more to come soon! Sometimes the first ones can be soft etc., but they will get it right soon.

You'll get all sorts of weird eggs with new layers - soft shelled, partially hard, double yolkers, pullet bullets, etc. It's all part of their bodies adjusting to the laying process.

well I got 2 eggs today 1 small and long the other one, my chichen layed it from her perch an it fell and the shell broke up when it hit the grown.

Laying from a perch sounds uncomfortable.

Mine have each laid a soft egg as they were starting laying. 2 of my 3 that have laid so far laid soft shells for their first eggs. One was so odd, most of it was a good shell, but it had a 3/4" circle that was pretty much no shell at all.

I got my first prefect egg today she got off her perch an into the nest box .
