I didn't think they were mallards but my Dad's friend said they probably were so.... But yeah I definately didn't see mallard in Prissy so I wasn't sure.

Yes they are. I've wanted some and just found these guys at a swap. I'm told they are 6 months old.

Congrats! I don't think you need to clip their wings - they don't fly very far. I do clip mine, but they do not really go far

Well they aren't bothered by my dog so far but since he's a black lab, we keep him away anyway.
We are still having the great debate on whether to clip or not. We are still struggling to get them in at night (they want to sleep UNDER the coop instead of IN it) and Daffy flew from my Dad. He didn't go far but it was enough to make my Dad stop and look at me LoL
But thanks for the advice everyone. I do like them very much and I'm going to love them so much more after they warm up to me
