We placed an order on the 18th with cackle and I have been checking my email for days, waiting on my invoice and shipdate. but nothing, then yesterday, just as I was about to head out the door to the school bus stop to meet my son, the phone rings and the caller id said CACKLE HATCHERY!! apparently with the crazy weather they have been having, the speckled sussex aren't laying as much as they normally would..and I could go ahead and get the other 20 I ordered now and get the 5 SS pullets in May. But I got them to substitute the GLW for the SS chickies, so my ship date is Monday April 5th!! I should get them by Wednesday or Thursday next week!!!! I am super excited! this is our first time ordering from a hatchery, we started our flock from TSC chick days last year and had great success with them. I am looking forward to a good diversity of breeds with my feathered pigs!!

wonder if we will get any mystery packing peanuts? I would think this is going to be a pretty full box with these larger breed chickies.

My son is so excited because he is out of school for spring break next week and will be able to go with me to pick them up!
