I guess I'll call him "Stumpy"...

Dipsy, your stories are just like your chickens...FASCINATING AND CAPTIVATING!

I probably would have fainted if I had seen a chicken's leg just....fall off.

Lol My father's friend was deer-hunting once and shot a deer in the front left shoulder area. Afterwards, he never could find the deer cause he lost it's trail. One year later, we were looking at pictures from our trail cameras. Low and behold, the same buck my father's friend had shot showed up. His front left leg was lifted up and he was limping, but obviously was having an okay life because he was fat and healthy. We named him "Stumpy."

Anyway, good luck with your bird.

We raised guinea pigs for many years and occasionally a baby would get a hair from a long-haired parent wrapped around a toe. We always managed to catch it at just the discolored stage, never lost a toe but it could easily happen. We also had to keep the adult long-haired males clipped around their wiener as it would ALWAYS get strangulated if the hair was allowed to grow.
