One of my chickens was in the nesting box and was sitting on an egg that i dont think was hers. and she got up when i walked in and she continued to cover the egg with feathers and shavings while i stood there watching her. What is this called?

A broody hen theres usually one in every flock. She will probably take care of any egg available. I had one that tried to sit on about 15 eggs at once lol!
