We went to my local store to get two chicks, we came home with only one because it's just a local store and they couldn't get the other one to ship. What do I do to keep this one alive without the other one.Oh and I just got it home about 30 minutes ago.AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had an injured chick that lived alone for 2 1/2 weeks. She was loud when I would walk away, and I spent a lot of time with her. She did not have a problem growing and didn't seem to be deprived. I also had an adult chicken who was being picked on and I couldn't get any of my hens to be nice to her, so she lived in a barn all by herself for about a month. Now that she is back with a flock, she is the most independent bird we have, gets along with the others, but loves me more

. I think it should be fine if it's not immediately you get another chick. no one has chicks where you are? seems like an epidemic here, lol

Try a feather duster, or some other type of feathery object (I cut an end off of a feather boa once for just such a purpose). Or, could you get another of the same breed until they can get the one you want? It will do fine by itself with a fake "momma", but it will drive you nutso with it's peeping.

Thanks and I'm getting another in 14 day and nope its not an epidemic here because I live in the city.
