I love it! Very nice! Terrific idea for the floor! So much work, but it sounds like it will pay off in dividends.

I love the little birdhouse on the back also!

No problems with the ducks going over the fence to get to your pool? lol....I love ducks!

Well I still have to set posts for the gate and pull the fence tight. its been so bad here for mosquito's that we are trapped indoors most days unless the wind is cranking. that way we can work and not be fighting bugs. as is the ducks have a sand floor in the old bus stop hut. I put screen in the big back window but its not enough. they need the drop through floor the same the geese. so I have to build another base and reset the hut on it.
as for the bird house(s) we have well over a hundred. I put out enough for blue birds, they need at least 6 boxes for one nesting pair. the unused boxes get picked up by wrens and swallows.

well finally set some posts for the gate today. I used up a bunch of old posts salvaged from the swing set I got the goose huts roof from. have to pull the fence tight next and hang the gate.

I'm very impressed with your efforts and the results, Yetti. Thanks for the pictures.

A few years back my wife kept three geese in an arrangement similar to yours but with no goose house. The fencing was similar and about the same height. One day a predator--one large enough to bend the wire fence almost to the ground--climbed in and managed to grab one of our geese. We found the remains in the woods nearby. Then a few weeks later, the other two were attacked and one escaped with major claw injuries to his back, but he survived after some good vet work by a local rehabber and my wife.

I only mention this as a caution to you. You're probably already well aware of that possibility, but I don't want anyone else to have to go through what we did with our geese.
