I had quite a surprise while cleaning the coop!! Can you guess?

Good God! One more thing I am happy we don't have living up here in NH. You can keep your super-sized snakes and bugs on steroids, and I'll keep my bitter cold winters.

Yuck.

I think they are lovely for OUTSIDE, just not inside with me or mine. I had one in my office one day that I saw out of the corner of my eye that was crawling under one of my deputy's desk. I calmly - ok not so calmly asked her to roll her chair back at which time the creature appeared in front of her. You've never seen so many grown women move so fast. I scooped him up in a large envelope and took him outside the courthouse to the flowerbed. He was quite large and meaty.

I'm okay with tarantulas - I've had them as pets before. I always have wanted a Mexican Red Knee. Some spider's coloring is very pretty - but the face - uh its a face only a mother could love

Hi Kev. I was just trying to get everyone in the mood with that pic

We have the big brown ones in my neck of the woods. I have a big one living under one of the mats in the horse stall. We find them out on the property from time to time. A couple of times we've discovered one squished in the track of our sliding door

They don't normally gross me out....but I would prefer knowing when I'm going to have one drop on me

We were raised to name the spiders that wove webs in the corner of our bedrooms. I am far more grossed out by roaches! Now THAT would have made my jump!!

Did you all know taratulas migrate during certain seasons? Yup... I used to visit my grandpa in Kern county, (kinda deserty where he lived) and you could sit and watch the little nasties stroll across the road, tons of em'.

We would find them in the yard all the time when we lived in Palm Springs, Ca too. The kids were facinated and would herd a found tarantula around the yard for fun. I......was in the house with all the doors locked.

ROFL I just found this thread. The FIRST thing that popped into my mind was tarantula!
