Yesterday... my first one. I was so upset. DH built this massive pop door that drops like a gilatine. I asked him to open the door and I called the chicks. They came running and the door fell and crushed one of my hens. Instantly broke her legs and wing. She was making gurgling noises and I didn't think I'd be able to save her, so I broke her neck [IMG]

    What a waste.

I am so sorry. I know that had to be such a hard thing to do and I applaud you for your strength. I hope I will be as strong if that time ever comes for me. [IMG]

Aw Shellie, I am so sorry. I have those gilatine type doors too and am always scared I am going to let it down on someone and hurt them. These types of accidents are so tough. :aww

Oh that is so sad. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I hope I also can do it if it ever comes down to it.

I'd like to say culling chicks gets easier but it doesn't. What does help
is the feeling that you were strong and did the right thing. [IMG]
