I took them away from her body and have placed them in a carry cage in the airing cupboard. They have a warm hat to snuggle in and access to water and chick crumbs. Will this be warm enough for tonight? I have no other heating elements until tomorrow! All help would be appreciated, thanks!

Will they be okay just for one night? I have no other means of heating as this has never happened before, I have bred for years but always had mother hen do all the work.

A regular light bulb lamp will work (not flourescent), or a heating pad as another poster mentioned. You just need to make sure they can move out of the heat when they get warm enough.

I have a heat mat but no thermostat so I don't want it to over heat as it is for snakes. No bulbs I'm afraid and the container they are in till tomorrow is too small for a hot water bottle.

I would put them in your bath tub on a towel with the heat mat on one end. They can move on or off of the heat mat as they desire to regulate their temperatures. Close the bathroom door so that they can't escape and nothing happens to them.
