i hate chicken wire

Plastic chicken wire? Same as plain chicken wire. It's meant to keep chickens in, does nothing to keep predators out. Pests are one thing, predators are another.

Now I don't really know if there are predator in the back yard. Haven't seen anything since I moved in but that was ten years ago. Only thing that worries me are cats. Should I be alright with the chicken wire in a enclosed run. Would regular or plastic be better, I'm going towards plastic. Looks tough enough plus it's cheaper.

That's what my husband and I just used to put up some sort of a run for our 5 chickens. It's not exactly sturdy....and it pretty much will only keep the chickens in and the dogs out (if they are supervised so they won't try to poke/dig under or jump to the top and squish it down). Until we come up with something better, the chickens are only allowed out when someone is home and the dogs are only allowed out at the same time if someone is outside with them.
