I hate people who give minors alcohol

let me try to describe my road so you will understand this... there is only one entrance into the area where I live... I live on the main road... half way down that road is a road that t into it and on that road there is a dirt road that crosses it... no one should be speeding on theese roads but most people due... my hubby is ast. fire chief for our volunteer fire dept.. last night there was a call about a wrek where the dirt rd intersects with the other road... we det there and there is a white truck flipped on its side in the ditch and a jeep also in the same ditch... there was tw o patients... the guy in the truck was leaving a party(he was so drunk ... he reaked of alcohol-plus a minor) and the people in the jeep where going to the party... the truck had to have been speeding to have knocked the jeep that far into the ditch...
when we got ther took like a minute for us to get there there was about 20 minors ther all drunk plus adults... there was adults at the party who supplied the alcohol ... and everyone let that boy who was drunk drive away... they are so lucky he didn't kill someone or himself.. he was hurt pretty bad... the girl in the jeep was also hurt pretty bad...

people on theese roads think they can get away with this kindof stuff because they know the sheriffs department never comes out here unless something like this happens or there is a gun involved... if I calll about anything they are always working something else and never show up...

sheriffs and dps(state police) were all over the place ...my hubby started pointing out all the drunk minors to the deputies and where the party was... I have always worried something like this was going to happen ... not just from someone drunk but by people speeding and people not obeying the two stop signs on this road ...

sorry about the rant... I have 2 teenagers and this really bothers me to know that people supply alcohol to minors..

The quick stop down the road doesn't even ID half the time. Someone in front of us was buying cigarettes. I told myself hummmm? Mom asked what, I told her he is in my grade at school, he's 16. Mom asked the guy at the register how a 16 year old could get tobacco and the guy finally asked for his ID and found out he was underage. That kid was TICKED! Can't wait until I see him at school *sarcasm* People these days are stupid. I don't have a need want or desire to try it.

I never gave them alcohol - I don't drink - but I let them drink at my house if they give me their car keys. They are going to drink anyway and I would rather have them sleeping it off here than trying to drive home.

I did let my daughter drink when she was 16 and we were in Cancun. She never left my sight; and they served her down there even knowing her age. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Hi Chixie, It is a cultural problem we have in Australia as well. Lots of parents will buy alcohol for their kids when they get close to 18. However it is common for kids as young as 13 and 14 to be drinking most weekends. Very sad.

I guess all we can do is try to find other things for our children to focus on. Raising beautiful poultry is a great past time. I've got kids from 12 down to the 7 month old asleep on my shoulder at this moment and they all love our chooks.

I do hope somebody has learnt a potentially lifesaving lesson from that accident you and your husband were called out to.

I was scared when the guy said he had two people riding with him and we couldn't find them... I am so scared one day it will be one of my children...Its one thing if you give it to your own child... but what right do they think they have to give it to someone elses child...

my 16 year old is the one I really worry about... my 18 year old (i know she drinks) but she does it at her boyfriends house(very seldom) because he rarely drinks and they stay home... I rarely drink and if I do(even my hubby) we stay home to do it...

I am so proud of my 18 year old her cousin called her on her birthday and asked told her she wa throwing her a party for her 18th birthday and my daughter told her no thank you and stayed home

My husband is a manager at racetrac and has had employees hand cuffed and escorted out of the building cause thye sold tabacco or alcohol to minors. Florida don't mess around and that accident Polk county sheriffs would be arresting the parents and all the kids!! I have seen it and they could care less about the paperwork. We have no state taxes. they need to make their money!!

we left when the wreckers had thetruck and jeep loaded... The officers were still down at the house where the party was so I don't know if anyone was arrested or not... I haven't heard... I hope they were ... if not if It was my kid I would be throwing a huge fit...
