I agree with both sides. I would have done what ever I had to with the skunk. I am also a compasionate animal lover to but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. It was either the skunk or it would have had a field day killing the chicks or other birds. Again I see both sides and it is an unfortunate part of the business and hobby. They only thing I can add is that I do try to be as humane as possible when eliminating an animal like that. I hate to tell this on myself but I will to admit I made a mistake and Im human. I have a bad coyote problem (killing house cats, calves and neighbors little puppy).... and had set a trap. Caught a skunk so I wanted it to be quick so I used a .22 for a head shot to be quick with no extra suffering. Went back the next day to bury the poor thing but it was not dead. I felt horrible about what I had not correctly done the first time and had that on my mind for quite some time. Just putting in my thoughts....
