My Muscovy Hen is on her nest in the duckhouse (day 33). She prefers to come out for a quick bite to eat and a splash in the pool or pond in the evening just before dusk. Night before last I went out right at dark to shut and lock the duckhouses and a skunk came out of the one Willow is in. It had rolled an egg out from under Willow, busted it and the duckling was dead. There was no blood, not cuts on the duckling...broke my heart. I ran for the house to get my gun but the skunk was gone when I came back out. Last night I sat out behind a tree until 9:30 with my gun waiting for that skunk to show up bit it didn't. When I went out this morning to feed all I could smell was skunk...I hate them!
