We bought a new weed eater this year, didn't know until we got home its rather strange to start, you have to hit a certin button and it sorta goes click click,I have heard DH gripping about the way it starts so I know strange.sounds. early this morning (2:30) i hear these click clicks, and tried to wake up DH but since hes almost deaf he couldn't hear them. Guess the thief though the work shed was far enough away from the house no one would hear him, and wouldn't have if not for all the windows being open for the cool night air. So I jumped out of bed grabed the gun and ran outside, by then he was in in GS yard, and since sound carries at night I scream Drop it fellow and shot at a woodpile. needless to say, he hit the tree line running.but #### it i missed,But hopefull he got scared enough to stay home from now own.I know that with times getting as hard as they are, more and more people will probably turn to stealing.esp as far back in the hollow as we are. but since they were outside, my dear pitt sleeps thru it all untill she hears the gunshot, shes afraid fo loud sounds.then she starts to cry, big baby.

im thinking of padlocking my coop...course they might just bolt cut through the fencing....I have 2 LGD but they usally just chase away dogs that are a threat..maby they would sence wich humans are a threat also....

Too bad you missed. I hope he does not return and will reconsider trying to steal again. I know times are tough but so far we made it without stealing. I would say more but I don't want to get in trouble

I'm still trying to figure out why someone stealing a weedeater would try to start it right there?

Weird!

why would one try to start a weed eater before it is completely stolen? sounds like a candidate for the "stupid criminals" wall of fame. Sorry you didn't at least see him! Don't you wish you'd had flood lights that you could just flick on?

Maybe he wasn't trying to steal the weedeater. He could be a freelance repairman on the midnight shift.

imp- maybe not so much

Glad you're OK though

I'd think that since you hit the woodpile near him, he'd know you were serious.

Maybe he thought you were being nice and giving him a chance! LOL!

I agree...what an idiot he was! At least now you'll be known as the crazy house, and should be left alone! That's what I am working on! LOL!

Believe it or not, thieves do steal anything to make a buck, usually at the pawn shop! Hubby's bikes, lawnmowers, Craftman tools and tree trimmer were all stolen at night. Never did find the items. Happened about five to six times. Hubby just dont get it either, because he left those things out! One time, they tried to break into the shed by wrinching the door handles off of the Royal Outdoor shed but unsuccessful. Now we got OLD lawnmower that they didn't bother to take when it was sitting out in the side of shed LOL! I guess they want something brand new.

At this day and age, the ecomony has alot to do with it while others are teenagers that would do this as well.

I know exactly how you feel. Someone stole 2 (50lb) bags of chopped corn and 1 - 50lb bag of laying pellets from me 2 months ago. I was so mad, I could have riped 2 phone books in half. And I live in the country rural area. Go figure.
