I know this is an old thread, but I read it and was laughing out loud! I am reassured that I am not the only one who has lost her mind over chickens.
Yes - we started with 6 - for my daughter, who wanted chickens. I had to get 2 more (GLWs - because the photo of the adults was so beautiful). Held at that for a couple of years - then added 16 chicks - then last year (after finding BYC) ordered 25 from Ideal, broody hatched 9 from halo, now succumbed to ordering another 10 chicks arriving in a couple of weeks, then yesterday ordered an incubator and am now trying to decide what kind of eggs to hatch!!! Currently have 36+10 ordered and then what? Need to hone my construction skills....
