I have 10 buff orpington chicks how big of a coop do i need?

I have 7 Buff left, started with 11 in an 8x8 floor space and 6 tall, 3 nest boxes. I had 1 fly out of yard and get killed by a dog last Nov. We had a stray climb the fence about 3 weeks ago and kill 3. So now I have 6 hen and 1 rooster in the same area. The 11 were just as happy as the 7 are. They have plenty of room but still roost close together. I added 2 more nest boxes to give more room but none will use them, they all crowd into the 3 boxes.

Looks like I'll start coop tomorrow if the weather is good. heading to Home Depot tomorrow before lunch wish me luck. I'm not spending for than 250 on a coop. Imma try to salvage what I have around here and I found a few picture frames so I'll be making windows out of 2x3's and picture frame glass 11x14. I know I'll have to spend about 150 on welded wire for the run then some 4x4's speaking of that do you build run on top of ground or do you dig post holes to set post outside run?

Well having chicks all the neices and nephews stopped by today to see them so.........No startin the coop today. Looks like rain here in NH from tues. to fri. so I guess next weekend I'll start the coop. I have my coop all on paper so ill get materials one night this week. This site is addicting do they have BYC Anonymous?
