any idea on what the best thing is to keep them in I'm new with chickens looking for any advice

Use the barn and put up some sort of confinement circle, with a couple of heat sources, and multiple feed and waterers, giving them more space as they need it, that's a lot of chicks to take care of at one time. Good luck, I like doing eight at a time.

I keep mine in a barn stall and it has worked nicely. You'll need to keep them confined to a small space with a heat source and a way to get away from it until they feather out. Chicken wire pen or poultry wire is fine. Plenty of food sources, I put green marbles in the waterers. An old trick that works. Gradually increase the space. Be sure you dip their beaks in the waterer when you get them. I know with 100 that'll take a minute but they must drink. You didn't mention your climate, what type chicks. Hot? Cold? Meat? Eggs? Dual? Shout it out and eggsperts will be glad to help. You might want to visit the learning center if you haven't already. https://www.backyardchickens.com/atype/1/Learning_Center
